I have really enjoyed writing these reviews and I hope I can find something just as enjoyable for next year to do. I’ll take suggestions and if you haven’t read my previous goosebump reviews from last year (CLICK HERE).

FINALLY! Finally! finally! A great, twisted, disturbing, scary, GB book. I don’t know how this one slipped by. I Live in Your Basement was genuinely freaky.

Werewolf skin was an interesting read and the concept of wearing a skin to transform into a werewolf is fascinating.

The Haunted School didn’t feel like a Goosebump book. Sadly, it was because the plot actually made sense and was super interesting. It had moments of being dumb, but nothing really noteworthy.

Oh another GB sequel…whatever shall we do?
This one takes place one year after Deep Trouble one ends.

My best friend is invisible is the exact same bait and switch idea as “the girl who cried monster.”

The cover for the Curse of Camp Cold Lake always freaked me out, but I only read it for the first time recently. The book holds up for sure.
Sarah and her brother Aaron go camping at Camp Cold Lake. While there Sarah gets bullied and doesn’t feel liked at all. In her desperate attempt to see if people care, Sarah holds herself under water for a while. When she comes back up, the camp is empty and it’s winter. She finds a girl named Della in the new winter camp. Della tells her she died at the camp and wants a swimming buddy.
Suddenly, Sarah is resuscitated at the original camp. She almost drowned.
She still sees Della around the camp and no one believes her, they just think she’s been traumatized.
Della keeps popping up around camp slowly driving Sarah crazy. Sarah goes water skiing and Della almost hits her with a boat. Sarah runs into the woods to get away from the camp, in the woods, Sarah meets Della, who tells her she didn’t die in the lake, she was bitten by a snake. Before Della can kill Sarah, Brianna shows and Della disappears. Turns out Brianna was also killed by Della and Brianna wants Sarah as her friend. The books ends with Brianna holding the snake above Sarah.
The ending was the weakest part, but the other parts were interesting and dark. The counselor should have sent Sarah home after she accidentally tried to kill herself, but that’s the only part that I really didn’t like.
3 out of 5.
